Frequently Asked Questions

DERMAL FILLER

Will it hurt?
Prior to injection a topical (cream-based) local anesthetic is used, numbing the skin. Some temporary minor discomfort is still possible, but the procedure is not generally painful.

How long will it take to work?
The effects of dermal fillers are instantaneous, but are often seen to their best effect some days following the procedure once any minor bruising has resolved.

How long will it last?
Effects persist from six to twelve months, depending on individual variation.

How much will it cost?
The cost of dermal fillers is based on the amount of filler administered. As a general rule deeper wrinkles require larger amounts to filler and therefore will be more expensive. An initial consultation will generally be sufficient to provide a price estimate.

Are there side effects?
With any form of injection minor discomfort and bruising is possible,  about 1 in 20,000 people have experienced temporary swelling, redness and tenderness at or near the treatment site up to several weeks post treatment.

BOTOX

Will it hurt?
Botox can be administered with a tiny needle to minimise discomfort. Although slightly uncomfortable for a second or two, the injection could not be described as painful. How long will it take to work?
Generally speaking effects can be seen after 48hrs, with the full effect visible after two weeks.

How long will it last?
Effects persist from three to six months. Whilst there is individual variation, there is some suggestion that with repeated use the effects are prolonged.

How much will it cost?
The cost of botox is based on the numbers of areas treated, with prices starting from £199. see diagram

Are there side effects?
With any injection-based technique it is possible to get some minor injection related side-effects such as bruising, swelling and discomfort. More serious side effects such as allergies or drooping of the eye lid are very rare.
